Context

Following a brand refresh and launch of a new strategic direction, Ofcom needed to turn initial awareness into deeper understanding and engagement. The launch landed well, but long-term success depended on employees knowing how they could contribute in their role.

Approach

To help employees understand what the next 12 months would involve and how they could get behind the strategy, we developed an internal communications film. Using a clear, authentic narrative and real colleagues, the film made the strategy feel relatable and practical.

Outcome

The film connected employees to Ofcom’s new shared direction, keeping the strategy front-of-mind and helping everyone understand how they could contribute to the future of the organisation.

Using internal film to communicate strategy beyond launch

Ofcom had recently introduced a refreshed brand and new strategic direction. The initial response was positive, but with change continuing across the organisation, it was important that this didn’t feel like a one-off announcement. There was a clear opportunity to build further engagement and keep the strategy visible.

We translated the strategy into a clear, forward-looking narrative. Through a simple storyline, we connected the organisation’s priorities to everyday roles – helping employees understand the benefits of the strategy and what it meant for them. By featuring real colleagues and their experiences, the film made the strategy feel authentic and something employees could relate to.

Visually, we blended animation with live footage to reflect the refreshed brand identity, while keeping the tone human and accessible. The film premiered at Ofcom’s annual employee meeting and was live-streamed across the network, ensuring every colleague could experience the moment together.

How we made a meaningful difference

By translating strategy into human terms, we helped colleagues connect with a shared direction. That sense of alignment helped employees understand what lies ahead in the next year and guide them through times of change.
